the shins

i live with the most wonderful family! some of you will know that i’ve lived apart from family for an uber uber long time…on and off since i was in grade 4. the shins have become my family and sarah (aka mama shin) has adopted me as her sister wohoo! i love each personality in this home dearly and to express that i set up a photobooth for them to take photos for the christmas season. It’s great to come home to a full house after a long day. I think i’d go a little crazy if i lived alone cause all i would do is sit in front of my computer and work :P

last night i went to my 3rd concert! seeing brooke fraser perform live was awesome and i lost myself in her silky voice. It was totally worth standing for several hours for her. Check out my brooke fraser tshirt isn’t it awesome? i contemplated waiting to get her sign it but was too shy :P

The men that came to the bday dinner were a little stressed because it’s a little hard to top. I mean who brings gifts for the guests? This is what he brought for us girls.

another SWEET couple :)
this is another wedding i shot on a chilly day. It’s definitely a real challenge for the wedding photographer to keep a good flow of things during the shoot while covering all important images. For myself as the photographer it’s hard to shoot additional random creative shots when the bride is cold. I feel so bad that i wanna wrap things up quickly. There’s definitely a fine line…do i spend more time to cover more shots while the bride is clearly very cold or do i cover just the required so that the photoshoot isn’t ruined for them because they’re freezing to death. I find it’s important to mentally prep yourself when you know that it’ll be cold.
