susan + bernard engaged…and now married

i’m a tad behind with the blogging so now i’m blogging about a couple who are already married keke s’ok though i just wanted to share some photos with you. Susan and i attended the same church…now bernard has stolen her from us booo we’re sad to see her leave but happy for her at the same time. As a couple susan and bernard are SUPER SWEET! like you’ll get a cavity or barf…in a good way :P
i found myself shooting to match their personality…rather than the stylized poses i usually enjoy i found myself shooting more romanticy…this happened unintentionally but i think it’s a good thing to understand the couples mood and their dynamic. As much as I would want to shoot the way i want to shoot all the time we as photographers need to be mindful of the couples we shoot. It seems like a given but i forget that sometimes. anyhoo! so happy for you susan and bernard!

dom and rog are REALLY sweet….they’re also super tall! haha i felt like i was working with a couple of models cause they’re SO TALL!

i guess that was one of the technical challenges. when shooting. I had to keep that in mind and not shoot them with my camera angled up but rather stepping up onto something to match my eye level to theirs. Another challenge is keeping a mental tab on the shots I have. I always want to give my bride and grooms the best and memorable shots…i do the classical and traditional as well as get more creative. The last thing i want is for them to think 10years later that they wish they had a normal shot of themselves. This is why i was SUPER happy during the reception when i stepped out to grab something from my car and saw the BEAUUUTIFUL lighting caused by the sun setting. I rushed inside and grabbed my lovely models to do a quick shoot out in the field. I’m soooo happy i took that initiative because those photos will last a lifetime. Their waterloo wedding was quite the party…Croatians and Romanians know how to party!!!

and now some photobooth fun! the guests at dom and rog’s wedding were quite rambunctious…very high energy which is always great because the results are often fun.

I also took dom and rog outside during the reception cause i wanted to catch the BEAUTIFUL light outside. I love this type of lighting:

last month i tagged along with claud to shoot heather and andrews wedding. I’m sorta catching up with the blogging so here i go!!!
shooting with claud is always such an honor and so much fun. There are certain things now that i make sure I get as well as make an effort to remind claud to cover i.e. the ring shot! HAHAHAHA
It’s great team work because we’re not working our asses off to shoot everything ourselves instead we cover each others bases so at each wedding I shoot with claud my job changes a little. Sometimes i shadow her, sometimes i man (or woman?) the photobooth for her. In most cases in the mornings i get dumped with the groom to capture him getting read :) Actually I love chillin with the boys cause usually they’re soooo chill i love it

i had so much fun shooting with ann and mike it was fantastic to get away from the typical locations and venture somewhere new. It keeps me inspired and excited to shoot. I didn’t really realize this until recently although this was told to me by my mentor. Shooting somewhere new also means scouting the location to ensure that the shoot runs smoothly. The best way to do this is to pick 3 to 5 locations or sets and with each of those locations you can arrange your couples in numerous ways. I usually try and pick 3 definite sets. The shoot turned out great…we shot on the grounds of where i go rock climbing so that was double bonus cause i got to climb for a good couple hours and then shoot….i admit i went back to climb after kekeke twas a good day

we went to the quaint town of kleinburg to shoot their engagement session. carmela and chris were both quite shy in front of the camera so i did my best to capture that cuteness on camera. such a sweet couple! :D

here’s the outcome…not bad!
JUST got back from niagara on the lake after shooting grace + eric’s wedding
it was an INTENSE weekend this weekend! but i vow never to do back to back weddings it’s just too much intensity!!!!
i’ll blog more about the crazy weekend later but right now i gots to sleep @_@

the sweetest couple EVER!
their wedding was so tight! I call a wedding tight when nothing is wasted….the games were super entertaining, the speeches short and sweet with guests who all LOVE lancy + collin. They were truely such a pleasure to shoot. I especially loved their exit. Instead of dancing well into the night they opted to end the night at 10pm. so sweet. so tight.

the ultimate highlight was the bollywood dance by one of the guests…it was part of the kissing game..anyways it was THE highlight because first i lived in pakistan for 7 years so it made me feel warm and fuzzy and also cause i knew the song..HAHAHAHA there’s a video at the end so check it out.
