oh my oh my! I cannot believe I have not even blogged my own engagement. I don’t know if this is because “weddings” is my business or cause I’m kinda private or cause I’ve been pressuring myself to post something grand which made me postpone and postpone and postpone it. Well here I am now to announce my engagement…and my wedding is in 6 weeks! I can’t tell you how excited I am to marry the love of my life, the person who makes me wanna pull out all my hairs, and the person who brings such joy… and also to have the kind of wedding I’m comfortable with. Having seen so many weddings I know what I don’t like (just not my style). I’m all about being true to yourself so that’s what we are gonna do. Can’t wait to share more as the day approaches!!!!

I can not wait for these two to marry. Not only are they dear friends to me but they are so cute together. They love games. I mean. They REAAAAAALLYYYYYY love games. It only made sense that they would bring a game of scrabble as their prop. Everyone is a little uncomfortable in front of a camera so it’s nothing new. But when they started playing scrabble together they became so comfortable and began to laugh with ease, I couldn’t help but smile behind my camera. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding because yaejin’s smile is so beautiful. Sam, you’re aight. Yaejin is earnest and sweet and sam is…smart. lol. no really! he is smart. He built my website! woot woot! It’s also a special wedding because my fiance’s the best man! When Ron (fiance) told me the news he was so excited and honored. Thanks for having us be such a big part of your wedding day!

Cambodia: Floating Village

The floating village in Cambodia are actually inhabited by Vietnamese. They travel from one end of the river to the other as the monsoon comes and goes. It’s quite a touristy spot though. I hear that if you go further in on the river you get to see more authentic living. In a sense it’s good because the money that they make from boat fares and such goes directly to the residents (so they say). It’s incredible to see the resourcefulness of the human race! Although they don’t have land and live on top of water they have things like pig in a pen and even a coconut tree!

My favorite drink! Ice coffee with condensed milk. Super sweet and super awesome. You can see it’s empty because I couldn’t stop to take a photo prior.

Esther + Roger } Engaged

ok! I know it’s been a long time since I posted any wedding related photos so here’s a little something for you all. I’m so honored to be shooting their wedding and SO happy they found each other. I like esther and I like roger. i like it!!!!! Esther I’ve known because we go to the same church so when I met Roger initially I was a little skeptical. But he proved to be a surprise party in a box. He is not what you initially think he is. He’s genuine, sincere, funny! and most important of all he makes esther laugh…a lot. In fact it’s so easy for him to make her laugh I sometimes wonder at esther and her sense of humor. Trust me. Some of the things he says is just not funny but she throws back her head and laughs so hard it makes me feel like I’ve missed the punch line.
So. I’m thrilled that they are tying the know. Oh and did I mention esther is a wedding planner extraordinarie? She plans huge corporate events so weddings are easy for her. Maybe I should ask her for some help for mine..?

Cambodia: Angkor Wat, part I

When you go to Siem Reap you are most likely there to see Angkor Wat and you’ll soon realize what image you have of Angkor Wat is actually Ta Prohm. You’ll never forget the first moment you see these amazing temples. I’m reminded of how it felt when I first set my eyes on Istanbul, the feeling of stepping back in time.It’s such a beautiful amazing place but I’m glad i’m seeing it in the year 2012 because back when this big mama was being built the place would’ve been overcrowded with 900,00 workers/slaves… I’d much rather observe it now than be part of the construction.

I think everyone should go to Cambodia and see it. It’s truly an amazing place. A warning. It’s hot and there are mosquitoes. Apparently my blood is hot so I got bitten a lot. Always carry around some after-bite with you.

The roughest ride of my life. This is an old track used by locals to transport goods from one village to another. They still use it in the mornings to do exactly that but in the afternoon to evening it turns into a tourist ~~trap~~ attraction. Apparently it’s an hour long ride one way! We didn’t take the whole ride as it is quite tiring sitting upright on a makeshift “train” with bumps that you can feel in your teeth every 5 seconds and with branches whipping at you from the side. The highlight was the sunset *sigh* oh the sunset….it was one to remember. Cambodia really is a beautiful country. The second highlight was the woman in colourful clothes. She had black teeth.

we visited the only “mountain” I could see in the area. It’s another sad landmark out of many in Cambodia where so many men and women lost their lives during Pol Pot’s reign.
